Hunt: The playing fields are level

28 Feb 2021, 21:43 GMT+10

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt is looking forward to a strong performance from his side in their CAF Champions League group stage clash against Wydad AC on Sunday.

Amakhosi are taking on the Moroccan two-time Champions League winners at the 4 August 1983 Stadium in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

They kicked off this stage of the competition with a 0-0 draw with Horoya AC while Wydad defeated Petro de Luanda 1-0.

Speaking after a training session at the venue ahead of the game, Hunt said his side is looking good and prepared for a difficult encounter.

He told the club's website: "It's our first time in Burkina Faso. But luckily, we've travelled to many countries in Africa and Burkina Faso is quite similar to some countries in the west of our continent, so it's not completely new to us.

"The boys performed well in training on Saturday and we are hoping for a good game today. What we know is that it won't be easy because our opponents have more experience in the CAF Champions League competition and have reached every stage. We just have to focus on doing our best and hopefully pick up a win.

"The weather in Morocco is much cooler now so they also have to adjust. The playing fields are level - no one team has an advantage. At the end of the day, we want to play great football and bring home the points."
