KIGALI -- At least 11 people were killed and 36 more injured Friday when a maize dryer collapsed on them in Gasabo district on the outskirts of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, a local official said.

"The accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. The dryer collapsed under the heavy weight of maize cobs," Desire Nsabimana, executive secretary of the Rusororo sector, where the tragedy happened, told reporters. (Rwanda-Collapse-Casualty)

ABUJA -- Three bodies were recovered from the rubble of a three-story building that collapsed Thursday in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on Friday.

Twenty-one people with light injuries were rescued from the rubble of the collapsed building in Gwarinpa, a developed district in Abuja, as the rescue operation entered its second day, Manzo Ezekiel, a spokesman for the NEMA, told Xinhua via telephone. (Nigeria-Building)

RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian young man was killed on Friday by Israeli soldiers near the village of Huwara south of the West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said.
