LAGOS -- At least 18 civilians were killed in an attack by armed bandits on a village in Nigeria's central state of Benue on Sunday, an official said Monday.
Scores of residents were also injured in the attack on the Iye village in the Guma local government area of the state on Sunday evening, said Christopher Waku, a security official of the Guma local government area, in a telephone interview with Xinhua on Monday. (Nigeria-attack)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli hi-tech company Electreon Wireless began on Sunday a nonstop 100-hour test drive on a wireless charging road, according to a statement posted on its Twitter account on Monday.

UNITED NATIONS -- A Ghanaian peacekeeper serving with the UN Interim Security Force in Abyei will receive the 2022 UN Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award, according to a press release posted on the UN website on Monday.
