YANGON -- Six people were injured on Monday in a bomb blast in Myanmar's largest city of Yangon, the Information Team of Myanmar's State Administration Council said.

TOKYO -- Floods have claimed three lives and damaged about 990 houses after record torrential rains pounded a wide swath of Japan's Pacific coast, local media reported Monday.

ISLAMABAD -- At least three people were killed and 13 others injured on Monday in a collision between a van and a truck in Mandi Bahauddin district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, the rescue service reported.
The accident reportedly occurred early morning on Gujrat road in the district when one of the vehicles was making a U-turn, resulting in the death of three people, including two women, on the spot. (Pakistan-Traffic Accident)

LAGOS -- At least 30 people were killed in attacks by armed men on several villages in Nigeria's northwestern state of Sokoto on Saturday, police said.
Police in Sokoto said the people killed belonged to a vigilante group in the Tangaza local government area. Prior to the attacks, some members of the vigilante group went to the Azam village of the area to warn the community there against possible violence. (Nigeria-Attacks)
