(260116) -- KAMPALA, Jan. 16, 2026 (Xinhua) -- Polling officials count votes at a polling station in Kampala, Uganda on Jan. 15, 2026. Initial results show Uganda's incumbent President Yoweri Museveni took a lead in the presidential election, the country's electoral body said on Friday.
Uganda on Thursday held presidential and parliamentary elections, with more than 21 million Ugandans expected to cast ballots to elect the president and 353 directly elected members of parliament.
