The Houston Texans are celebrating the diverse backgrounds of eight players taking part in the NFL Heritage Program this season. The initiative allows players to wear international flag decals on their helmets, showcasing family ties and honoring cultures that have helped shape their journeys.
For Texans fans, it's a chance to see the team's diversity shine on gameday and to learn more about the roots that inspire some of Houston's most recognizable names.
WR Braxton Berrioswill representPuerto Rico, honoring his family's ties to the island.
Two Texans,DEDanielle HunterandG Laken Tomlinson, will showcase theirJamaican roots. Both players were born in Jamaica before moving to the United States.
DT Haggai Ndubuisi, the Texans'International Pathway Program player, will representNigeriaas he continues his inspiring journey from Lagos to the NFL. He's joined by veteranRB Dare Ogunbowalewho is also representing Nigeria.
DT Junior TafunaandLB Henry To'oTo'owill representTonga,while To'oTo'o will also carry theSamoan flagalongsideDT Tommy Togiai,highlighting the strong Polynesian tradition in football.
